General Background

  Gym Force Athletic Training Center is dedicated to providing expert gymnastics instruction to all participants registered.  The competitive program provides participants with the opportunity to engage in gymnastics at a competitive level, in accordance with USA Gymnastics rules and policies.  Competition is exciting and challenging, physically and mentally.  We feel that the importance of this opportunity lies in the pursuit of excellence.Like most organizations of it's kind, Gym Force depends on the help of many volunteers to support the competitive program.  Our Booster Club provides many support services, such as providing financial aid, purchasing equipment, ordering uniforms, paying coaches' travel expenses, and more.  The Gym Force Gymnastics Booster Association encourages the membership and support of all participant’s parents.


2008 - 2012  Competition Levels Description

Compulsory Routines  -  Each gymnast performs the same skills in a stated routine.  Bonus (extra points)  may be given for exceptional performance of a skill, which will only enhance their routine.

Optional Routines - Each gymnast performs a set of skills designated by USA Gymnastics.  The gymnasts have the opportunity to arrange the skills according to his individual preferences and abilities.

Level 4    is the entry level into the USA Gymnastics Competitive program.  These gymnasts perform compulsory routines dictated by USA Gymnastics.  This level is tailored to introduce competitive gymnastics to boys (6-7yrs.) (8-9 yrs) (10+ yrs).  These gymnasts may have the opportunity to compete in Local Qualifiers and Invitational  competitions around the state of Florida, and possibly in Georgia.  These gymnasts have the opportunity to compete at the State Championships.

Level 5    is the intermediate level of competitive compulsory gymnastics under the USA Gymnastics competitive program.  These gymnasts perform compulsory routines dictated by USA Gymnastics. This level is tailored to boys (7-9yrs.) (10-11yrs.) and (12+yrs.) who have mastered the skills at this level.  These gymnasts may have the opportunity to compete in competitions around the state of Florida, and possibly Georgia.  These gymnasts have the have the opportunity to compete at the State Championships of Florida, and qualify to compete at the Southeast U.S. Regional Championships, through the State Championships of Florida, based on score.

Level 6    Is the advanced level of compulsory routines under the USA Gymnastics Competitive Program.  This level is geared toward boys (8-9yrs.) (10-11 yrs.) and (12+ yrs.)  These gymnasts may have the opportunity to compete in Florida Invitational Competitions in the State of Florida, and the state of Georgia.  These gymnasts have the opportunity to compete at the State Championships, and may qualify to compete at the Southeast U.S. Regional Championships, through the State Championships of Florida.

Level 7    Is the introductory level of Modified Optional gymnastics.  The gymnasts routines are compulsory in nature, with the opportunity to add optional skills on each event, according to the mastery of the additional skills.  This level is geared toward boys (10-11yrs.) & (12+ yrs.) These gymnasts may have the opportunity to compete in State and Southeast U.S. Regional Competitions.  These gymnasts may qualify to the Southeast U.S. Regional Championships, through the State Championships of Florida.
 
Level 8    Is the Intermediate Level of Optional gymnastics.  This level is geared toward boys (12+ yrs). These gymnasts may have the opportunity to compete in State and National U.S. competitions.  These gymnasts may qualify to the Southeast Regional Championships, through the State Championships of Florida.  

 Level 9    Is the Advanced Level of Optional gymnastics for 12-13 yr. old gymnasts.  These gymnasts may have the opportunity to compete in State, Regional, and National Competitions.  These gymnasts may qualify to the Southeast Regional Championships, and the J.O. National Championships.  These gymnasts may have the opportunity  earn a spot on the USA Jr. National Team.

 Level 10  Is the Advanced Level of Optional gymnastics for (14-15) & (16+) yr. old gymnasts.  These gymnasts may have the opportunity to compete in State, Regional, and National Competitions.  These gymnasts may qualify to the Southeast Regional Championships, and the J.O. National Championships.  These gymnasts may have the opportunity to compete in the USA Championships and earn a spot on the USA Jr. Elite National Team.  The goal of many of these gymnasts is to earn a college scholarship.

Elite     Is the highest level of men's competitive gymnastics.  These gymnasts have aspirations of qualifying for USA National Teams, World Championship Teams, and Olympic Teams.
